FEBRUARY 25 HEALTH CARE MEETING
Don’t fall for it unless President Obama is willing to start with a clean slate!!
According to Obama’s ground rules for the meeting the meeting must be bipartisan, but any GOP plans “…must make health coverage affordable and available to the tens of millions of working Americans who don’t have it right now.” Since MA the word “bipartisan” has become a key word on Obama’s teleprompters. The February 25 meeting is just another public relations gimmick to influence the majority of Americans who oppose Obamacare.
If Republicans determine they must meet–I can’t understand why they would without changes in the ground rules–why not establish their own ground rules; for example, address all participants by their first names: Barry, Joe, Harry, Nancy and start from ground zero with no preconditions. Republicans should also insist Obama does not chair the meeting so there is no opportunity for him to use the “bully pulpit” and his teleprompters to dominate the discussion. In so doing, all parties would begin as equals and let “we the people” decide on the facts, “just the facts, ma’am”. That would be real transparency, not staged transparency!
