Jimmie Applegate Thanks to Bill and Judy for taking time from their busy schedules, especially during the session, to meet with we the people. Their Ellensburg Town Hall forum was attended by a friendly down home group appreciative of their straight talk and their open sharing of their frustrations with the lack of long range planning. They made it clear that this was not a partisan meeting, but from my admittedly biased position if those attending did not realize what is going on in Olympia they need to get their heads out of the sand. Governor Gregoire and her majority Democrats are intent on thrusting their tax increases down our throats no matter the well grounded arguments in opposition. No cuts of consequence, no future planning, no consideration of your family’s ability to pay—-just redistribute the wealth! All Republicans need to line up and give Bill and Judy the continued support they need as we all look forward to the change coming in November!

Jimmie Applegate President Obama campaigned long and hard for change. What happened? Now he is campaigning long and hard for the status quo—-talk about a flip flop!

Jimmie Applegate Don’t fall for it unless President Obama is willing to start with a clean slate!!
According to Obama’s ground rules for the meeting the meeting must be bipartisan, but any GOP plans “…must make health coverage affordable and available to the tens of millions of working Americans who don’t have it right now.” Since MA the word “bipartisan” has become a key word on Obama’s teleprompters. The February 25 meeting is just another public relations gimmick to influence the majority of Americans who oppose Obamacare.
If Republicans determine they must meet–I can’t understand why they would without changes in the ground rules–why not establish their own ground rules; for example, address all participants by their first names: Barry, Joe, Harry, Nancy and start from ground zero with no preconditions. Republicans should also insist Obama does not chair the meeting so there is no opportunity for him to use the “bully pulpit” and his teleprompters to dominate the discussion. In so doing, all parties would begin as equals and let “we the people” decide on the facts, “just the facts, ma’am”. That would be real transparency, not staged transparency!

Jimmie Applegate Ask Governor Sarah Palin what kind of Commander in Chief we need in America today. She will tell you. Palin’s Tea Party Convention keynote, her Q/A session afterward and her interview on Fox News have shown how she was mishandled during the presidential campaign. When candidates are over controlled–and that is what it was–the real person does not appear. After listening to her this weekend, I know her a lot better. Do you? And if you do, are you willing to admit it?
