Jimmie Applegate Just when we think we have heard and seen the most ridiculous legislation possible, the Washington State Legislature comes through again! The Democratic majority passed this kind of legislation and deadlocked over important issues to the point that a Special Session is assured. See Chinook Observer for a letter clarifying the details of SB 5525.
Sit down first and then click here SB 5525 to read the bill as passed to see how your tax payer dollars will be spent to give early released (10-50% of their time) felons rental vouchers of $500/month for up to three months. The sponsor even recognizes that $500 isn’t enough but suggests several felons could get together and pool their vouchers. That’s a great idea! Halfway houses serving as temporary living quarters for several early released felons in our neighborhoods. And all paid for by those of us who were working and bringing home a paycheck while the felons were languishing in prison.

KCRP Governor Gregoire is likely to call a special session as reported in the Seattle Times. She hopes to limit the session to just a few bills, however, one should remember that all previously dead bills can now be be brough back into play if she decides to call a special session.

KCRP Here is a letter you should read, but will never be written.
“Dear President Bush,
On behalf or myself—President Barack Obama, the Democratic Party, and the millions of self-righteous fanatics that fueled my campaign, I would like to personally apologize to you.
During the campaign, I regularly criticized you for using the National Security Agency to conduct warrantless wiretaps on suspected terrorists. At each campaign rally I routinely accused you of violating the Constitution and undermining the rule of law. You were probably very surprise then to read that after consulting with my Attorney General Eric Holder, my administration issued legal briefs in NSA v. Jewel (2008) indicating that my administration would continue the exact same practice you initiated after 9/11 (Check this out!). I sincerely apologize for questioning your commitment of our Constitution especially now that I have come to realize you were right and I was wrong. You see President Bush, when I was criticizing you for doing your level best to defend this country, I was an ignorant one term state legislator and junior Senator from Illinois. Now that I am President, I have full access to information provided to me by the FBI, CIA, NSA, State Department, and Pentagon. With this information, I now realize you were doing the right thing and my criticism was sophomoric and ignorant.
I also need to apologize to you about the use of “signing statements.” As President you signed many bills into law, but with signing statements indicating you would not be bound by certain aspects of the bill that encroached upon executive authority. Again, while I was campaigning for your job, I harshly criticized you for this practice. I accused you of creating an imperial presidency and abusing executive authority. Yet, again, you were most likely surprised to read in the New York Times that I intend to continue this practice as well. (PLEASE SEE THIS LINK.) I now realize that it is better to carve out minor exceptions to a bill than veto it in its entirety. Of course, I have tried my best not to appear hypocritical by claiming MY signing statements will only be for Constitutional concerns. Either way, I apologize for my hasty criticisms while I was just a candidate.
And finally, I need to apologize for mine and the Congress’ continual accusation that you were “politicizing the Justice Department.” When you fired a handful of federal attorneys (as is your right) we lashed out. We implied that you were using the impartial justice system to pursue your own political goals. We desperately tried, and failed, to link your advisor Karl Rove to some type of illegal behavior in regards to your actions. So, I’m guessing you were pretty shocked to see that my Department of Homeland Security issued a report suggesting that returning soldiers, people who opposed abortion and illegal immigration, and those who supported federalism (like James Madison, George Washington, and Thomas Jefferson) were potential terrorists! (Check this out!). I can only offer my deepest apologies for using one of our most important national security organizations to attack Americans who simply defend this country but hold beliefs that are contrary to those in my political party. I know this type of behavior is unforgivable, unethical, and an abuse of power but I ask your forgiveness anyway. I’m sure you saw right through the “coincidence” that this report was issued the same week as all the Tea Parties around the country.
I’m sure there is much more that I will eventually need to apologize for to you for. But, I’m only 100 days into my presidency. As I gain more experience, more information, and better sense of reality, I’m sure that I will come to realize that much of what you were doing as president was in the best interests of the county. As I look back at the rapid-fire, naïve criticisms I levied at you during the campaign, I’m sure I will be embarrassed by my own words. I can only tell you that now that I have become President, I have a greater appreciation of the job you did and that is why I am copying so many of your policies. For example, you’ll notice that I have not repealed a single provision of the Patriot Act, used tax cuts to stimulate the economy, and am pushing a free trade deal in Latin America. All I can say is “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.”
Your friend,
President Barack Obama

Jimmie Applegate What is your reaction to this lesson describing types of government? But even more important given the direction the Obama administration is taking us, what is your reaction to the potential outcome as described in this video? See: youtube

Jimmie Applegate Reconciliation means to most people the ending of conflict, the renewing of a friendly relationship or making conflicting things compatible. To majority Democrats in Congress it means, “Here it is, Like it or Lump it”.

Jimmie Applegate Our fears about voter fraud in King County during the 2004 election have been verified. Ron Sims should be a shoo-in now that “his” county, or rather the tax payers have coughed up $225K to pay for the voter irregularities that resulted in Dino losing by 133 votes. Maybe he can claim that it was an honest mistake and no one meant to do it. If so that should guarantee the permanence of his appointment.

Jimmie Applegate Last week President Obama overruled the advice of the current and four former Directors of the CIA when he released details of the enhanced interrogation techniques used following 9/11.
Does this show just how little he knows and understands about the danger to the United States at that time? Or did he just cave in to the vocal left? Or both?
